Latest updated ...20th Aug. 2010We have now entered our 36th Year, WOW! we have now totaled up an amazing 969 events since starting back in 1975..

Last month the team were invited to entertain the children of Chernobyl on the eve before their departure back to their homes in Belarus. Their now traditional last night party was a BBQ at High Ash Farm hosted by Denis Moores one of the principal organisers of the children's one month visit. As an additional surprise Denis was invited into the team for the display, a roll he put his heart and soul into performing virtually in triple time.After the display the Billerettes gave $500 towards the Belarus Diabetes Association.

Leading up to the end of 35th year we had a couple of new recruits.

The first to join us was Les Pountley the nephew of past Billerette Roy Yates who joined the team 30 years earlier. Les couches a junior football team and is therefore agile and used to prancing about in rain or fine. Les makes a good addition to the team.

The second recruit came along at the Liberation Day Event in the pavilion Gardens on Friday 2nd of July when Police Inspector Tony dales , who had promised for each of the past 3 years he would make his debut as a Billerette finally made it, joining his colleague Barry Thacker who has performed 2 past appearances, but this would be his first as now also a Police Inspector.

Following Buxton Carnival Parade and the display with Dronfield St John Marching Band on the Pavilion Gardens Promenade the team took great pleasure in presenting their donation to the Manchester Children's Team towards their 2010 Transplant Games being staged in Bath during August. The Cheque to the value of £700 was handed over to Teenager Thomas Maxwell-Harrison a transplant Kidney recipient who had applied to the Billerettes for help with funding, Thomas had made his debut in the 2009 transplant games gaining a bronze medal, the Billerettes wish him along with the rest of the Manchester children's team all the very best for the 2010 games.

Thomas went on to win three silver medals at the 2010 games, well done Thomas.

August 28th Just before the team set off to join the Dove Holes Carnival they took great pleasure in presenting £300 from their fund to Holly Rogers a 16yr old girl who is finding her feet in the world of kick boxing. Holly started the sport just 2 years ago and after being a bronze medal winner in the national kick boxing championship has been invited into the British national team to compete in the World Kick Boxing championship in Portugal this October. As the sport receives no national funding she has to raise all her own funding to attend.
